The MAXRaft Plus system is designed to meet the requirements of the upcoming building code changes effective May 1st 2023 where embedded underfloor heating is specified and the slab is being built on less stable ground such as TC2, expansive soils, 200KPA or piled sites.
Typically the slab is either 320, 340 400, 420mm in height, however this can be adjusted to meet site specific requirements.
The MAXEdge perimeter insulation, ribs and load bearing insulation from a standard MAXRaft® remain the same, however the SOLID PODS in the slab have increased thermal performance over traditional waffle pods to increase the overall construction R-value of the slab.
Each of these components combine to give you a foundation with an R value between 2.45 and 4.17 depending on the design.
For Houses with brick cladding the R-values in our R-value Calculator assume a rebate, however higher R-values can also be achieved with a brick to ground detail found in our downloads section.
MAXRaft Plus meets the requirements of Homestar V5 and can be adjusted to meet the requirements of Passive House Certification if required.
Please note that when using our R-value Calculator MAXRaft Plus has multiple versions of solid pods. The current version of the calculator is designed to give the lowest R-value result, we can increase that by adjusting your solid insulation underneath if required.
