90mm Hold Down Frame Fixings

 

We have completed testing on both "straight" and "angled" hold down fixings for 90mm frame to comply with Clause 7.5.12.2 of NZS 3604.  The same anchors will provide a 15 kN fixing for end studs of bracing wall elements.

For straight fixings please refer our "Standard MAXEdge Details" below and angled fixings are used in conjunction with our "Alternative MAXEdge Details".

Where 140mm framing is specified bolts can be installed as per NZS3604 and a specified fixing is not required.


 

Standard MAXEdge Detail - Straight Bolt Fixing (90mm Frame Only)

The T105mm Tapered MAXEdge is designed to "taper" earlier than our traditional 15 or 20mm tapered edge to allow a straight hold down fixing.

- Can be used in conjunction with MAXSlab, MAXRaft, MAX85 and MAXRaft Plus where 90mm frame is specified.
- Bolt specification must be either Hilti 10x150 HUS4-H Anchors or M10x140 Bowmac Bluehead Anchors as tested at 900mm centres.
- The same anchors will provide a 15 kN fixing for end studs of bracing wall elements.

Alternative MAXEdge Details - Angled Bolt Fixing (90mm Frame Only)

Testing Completed with BRANZ January 2020

- Can be used in conjunction with MAXSlab, MAXRaft, MAX85 and MAXRaft Plus where 90mm frame is specified.
- Bolt specification must be Simpson Strong-Tie TITEN HD THD10160MG screw anchors at 600mm centres or Simpson Strong-Tie AT-HP BLUE anchoring adhesive with M12 5.8 grade stud, 100mm embedment at 600mm crs as Tested.
- The same anchor will provide a 15 kN fixing for end studs of bracing wall elements.
